Meet Your Kentucky State Representative, Ron Crimm...

Since 1996, I have had the honor and privilege of serving in the Kentucky General Assembly. Since my district underwent some changes during the 2002 Legislative Redistricting (Link To Maps), the completion of the district has changed with the old 47th district being merged with a new 33rd district.

My wife Phyllis and I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. We are fortunate to have both families in the Louisville area. The only exception is our oldest grandson Peter Anderson who attends Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. My grandson Brent is a music major at University of Louisville and plays in the University band. My granddaughter Bethany is at Union University in Jackson, TN. Bethany is planning to go into nursing and possible to take that skill into the mission field.

As a legislator, I serve on several committees - Local Government, Banking and Insurance, Licensing and Occupation and Capitol Planning. These committees have given me an opportunity to work on some really fine legislation."

I am an Independent Insurance Agent and small businessman and I know firsthand the problems we face with finding affordable health insurance that meets the needs of our families. I have worked as a member of the Banking and Insurance Committee to pass legislation that will attract more insurance companies to our state - increasing competition and offering Kentuckians more choices for less of their hard earned dollars. That bill, passed during last year’s session. I will continue to work hard to improve legislation that effects all aspects of insurance

Some of my assignments, qualifications, and duties are as follows:

These are the standing committees that I am assigned too:

  1. Banking and Insurance
  2. License and Occupations
  3. Local Government (Vice Chairman)

One constitutional commitee:

  1. Capitol Planning

I serve Kentucky on three national committees:

  1. NCOIL (National Council of Insurance Legislators)
    1. Vice Chairman of the Budget committee
    2. Life Committee
    3. Health Committee
    4. Property & Casualty Committee
  2. ALEC
      American Legislative Exchange Committee: (Telecommunications)
  3. Seniors, Military Affairs & Public Safety

I began serving in the legislator in 1996. The 33rd district comprises all or part of the following communities
