Meet Your Kentucky State Representative, Ron Crimm...
Since 1996, I have had the honor and privilege of serving in the Kentucky General Assembly. Since my district underwent some changes during the 2002 Legislative Redistricting (Link To Maps), the completion of the district has changed with the old 47th district being merged with a new 33rd district.
My wife Phyllis and I will have our 50th wedding anniversary on 8/23. We are blessed with 2 children and 5 grandchildren , all of whom live in the Louisville area. Our first grandchild, Peter, graduated this year from Trinity Universal University, Deerfield, IL. Grandson Brent is a senior at UofL school of music. You may have heard on the news in February our granddaughter Bethany's school, Union in Jackson TN, was hit by the tornado. Her dorm was wrecked, we are thankful for her life. Kathryn is at the Honors College at Western KY U and Tim is at Greenville College in Greenville, IL.
In 2008 I was honored by my almamater as the outstanding alumnus award, at Shippensburg University at Shippensburg, PA.
As a legislator, I serve on several committees - Local Government, Banking and Insurance, Licensing and Occupation, Capitol Planning, Seniors, Military Affairs & Public Safety. These committees have given me an opportunity to work on some really fine legislation."
I am an Independent Insurance Agent and small businessman and I know firsthand the problems we face with finding affordable health insurance that meets the needs of our families. I have worked as a member of the Banking and Insurance Committee to pass legislation that will attract more insurance companies to our state - increasing competition and offering Kentuckians more choices for less of their hard earned dollars. That bill, passed during last year’s session. I will continue to work hard to improve legislation that effects all aspects of insurance.
Some of my assignments, qualifications, and duties are as follows:
